”Aan Tafel Bijbel”

gideon 2

Last summer I finished a giant job on illustrating an children bible. It was an amazing experience, making lots and lots of illustrations. It cost lots of ink, sweat and tears. But now, in a few days the result will be published.
The book will be called “Aan Tafel Bijbel”, free translated as “Table Bible”. The writer is Willemijn de Weerd, who did a splendid job on the different stories, and it will be published by Ark Media, Amsterdam.

If you’re curious for the result, here follows a link to the site of the publisher. From there you can click further to take a look at the inside.

Godspeed!

Illustration Friday: Teacher

These drawings come from the book ‘Yes! – een bijbels dagboek voor jou’, written by Gerrit ten Berge, illustrated by me and published by Callenbach, the Netherlands.

I think these pictures summarise my greatest teacher quite well…
I don’t think you’ll have some more explanation about the person I mean…

Project Matthew – Callenbach #2

Here some new illustration for the same project as in the last bulletin.
Some are more biblical, others more or less examples from life.
The first illustration is Jesus meeting Moses and Elijah on the mountain, and the spectator is holding his hand for the eyes, to not be blinded by the light coming from them.
the second one is about being good and nice from the inside, that everyone’s thinking how good a person you can be, while you maybe have some ‘dark’ secrets to hide…
The third illustration is a new version of the Jesus story about the 5 wise and the 5 not so wise maids…
The last one is about the moment Judas Iscariot is exposed as the traitor…

Project Matthew – Callenbach

The last time i’ve been busy for the illustrations for a book that expalins the bible book of st. Matthew.
Still work in progress, but i want to share some of the illustrations.
They still need some text in the balloons, so sometimes you may think: what does that have to do with the book of Matthew?
The text of the book is written by my dad, Gerrit ten Berge, and the book will be published next year.
But first i’ve to finish it all…
